Laura
Manager of Operations
Laura has been with Dr. Rajasekaran since late 2010 and began as a Certified Dental Assistant. Over the years she moved into the role of Treatment Coordinator and then transitioned to Manager of Operations for both of Dr. Rajasekaran’s offices.
In her own words:
Almost my entire dental career has been with Dr. Raj and I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. I have a profound appreciation for this wonderful team of professionals and I have also built such important relationships with our patients. One of the coolest parts of working here for so long is seeing patients come back years later as adults having known them as kids and getting to catch up!
Christine
Treatment Coordinator & Certified Level II Dental Assistant
Christie started working for both offices in 2017 immediately after graduating from Durham College. She started as a Certified Dental Assistant managing the entire clinic and training new staff to move into a Treatment Coordinator role full-time. She is part of the initial introduction to orthodontics for patients and their families. Christie has the ability to make instant connections with patients and understand their unique situations while fostering lasting relationships and guiding patients in their orthodontic journey.
In her own words:
I enjoy my job as Treatment Coordinator because I love getting patients excited about their smile transformation. As a CDA, I enjoy working directly with patients doing scans, impressions, X-rays, etc.
In my spare time I enjoy cooking for my family, spending time with my husband, our young daughter, my dog and two cats. I enjoy being active, trying new foods and weekends at the cottage.
Kristen
Administrative Manager
Kristen brought her positive and upbeat spirit to us in September 2019. Most of you will recognize Kristen because she is the face of our Whitby practice and greets everyone with a warm hello when they walk in the door! Kristen is your first point of contact and is responsible for scheduling, answering calls, payment plans, insurance inquiries, patient accounts and much more!
In her own words:
I get so much satisfaction from helping families and individuals go through the process of treatment, and seeing their smile transformation! Additionally, I love our team and truly enjoy coming to work every day because I appreciate the company culture and feel like I am always learning from my coworkers.
In my spare time I enjoy spending it with my cat and dog, reading, cooking, baking, getting out for walks, bike rides and spending warm summer nights on a patio with great friends.
Maggie
Orthodontic Hygienist
Maggie started working with us in 2017 and works directly with patients placing braces, fitting bands, wire adjustments, removing braces and placing permanent retainers. Not only is she responsible for these standard hygiene duties but she is responsible for executing the treatment plans for our in house 3D printed aligners and is an integral part of our team.
In her own words:
I love helping people transform their smiles to feel more confident and to be unafraid to put a bigger smile on their faces. I also love that the whole team here works in harmony. I love coming to work every day knowing I might get lucky enough to catch one of Dr. Raj’s dad jokes!
In my time not spent working, I love old school board games and spending time with friends and family!
Shannon
Orthodontic Hygienist
Shannon graduated in 2009 from Durham College with honours and has been with both our offices since early 2021. Though she loves general dentistry, she has an equal love for orthodontics and helping patients reach their smile goals. She has been a great asset to our team and we are lucky to have her with us, as are our patients!
In her own words:
I am thrilled to work with Dr. Rajasekaran because he takes the time to truly teach us to be the absolute best we can be. It’s a great feeling to go to work everyday and learn something new even after all these years. It’s also a bonus that my coworkers make work feel less like work!
I enjoy reading, spending time outdoors, especially in the Kawartha Lakes where I grew up. I also enjoy spending time with my 2 daughters and my husband!
When not working, I can be found in my garden or pool, reading, and spending my time with my two kids, my husband, and our friends and family.
Jhen
Certified Level II Dental Assistant
Jhen came to our office in 2021 with years of experience in the field and is now responsible for running the back clinic at both offices. Not only does she assist with X-rays, photos and impressions, sterilizing equipment and assisting the hygienists, she is also responsible for making sure everything in the clinic runs smoothly and in a timely manner.

I take great pleasure in working alongside such a kind and amicable team which makes coming to work each day feel like returning home. My free time is spent with my family, taking my children to their various activities and travelling with them which I thoroughly enjoy.
Megan
Office Administrator
Megan began working with us in 2023 and we couldn’t be happier to have such a bright and positive personality maintaining our front desk. Megan mainly works in our Markham location, but often can be found in Brooklin overseeing the Markham office remotely, managing the schedule and answering patient questions.
In her own words:
I love working with such an amazing team who work so well together and really value great work ethic! Taking care of our patients is a sentiment we all share and it’s refreshing to all be on the same page and work so cohesively for a common goal!
When not at work, I can be found enjoying time with my family and friends, going to concerts and traveling.
Lucy
Orthodontic Hygienist
Lucy began working with Dr. Rajasekaran in December 2023 and primarily works in the Markham location. She is quick to make patients feel at ease by building confidence, trust and friendship with each patient. Her soft and understanding nature make it easy for patients to feel comfortable.
In her own words:
I enjoy working with the team as our office culture involves open communication and mutual respect. In my spare time I enjoy exploring new hiking trails, building Legos and exploring new restaurants (which are vegetarian friendly, as I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian).
Tamika
Certified Level II Dental Assistant
Tamika started with us in January 2024 and has been a hands on and caring Dental Assistant for both our staff and our patients. You can find her in the clinic assisting the hygienists, cleaning and sterilizing instruments, pouring and trimming models, making retainers, taking patient records and giving oral hygiene instructions!
In her own words:
I love working for this office because I love conversations/interacting with the patients and seeing their orthodontic progress. My hobbies are traveling, especially to the Caribbean, binge watching a good series, and trying new restaurants!
