People often ask me why I love being an orthodontist so much. The ability to create confidence and positivity in people because of what I do every day is rewarding through and through.
This is the reason I went into orthodontics and started my practice in 2003: to help people see themselves in the best light. I only assist in guiding teeth into proper alignment; the beautiful smiles I create are only an enhancement upon the smile that was there all along.
Education and Continuing Education
I completed my Bachelor of Science in human biology and chemistry from the University of Toronto and later completed my Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree (DDS) at Columbia University. I furthered my dental education by completing my orthodontic (CertOrtho) and Master of Science (MS) degrees at the University of Detroit Mercy.
While I am passionate about delivering beautiful smiles for my patients, continuing education and continuously learning about the field of orthodontics remain a big part of my life. Because the field of orthodontics is always changing and evolving, I like to stay updated on all the newest technologies and innovations, which allows me to perform the latest procedures that, ultimately, benefit my patients.
I am the only orthodontist in the area to use diode laser technology, which allows me to make soft tissue corrections with not only minimal discomfort or bleeding for the patient, but also enables them to heal much faster.
I am a member of the following organizations:
- The Royal College of Dentists of Canada – FRCD(C), fellow
- Ontario Dental Association
- Royal College of Dentists of Ontario
- American Association of Orthodontists
Outside the Office
A native of Scarborough, ON, I recently purchased a home in Brooklin. At home, I live with two cats, Nero, a Siamese, and Roo, a rescued cat that is missing a paw. I am passionate about animals, animal care, and cruelty prevention.
When I have free time, I collect Lego figurines. In fact, I have many limited editions and often travel to the United States to purchase additions to my collection. I also enjoy spending most of my spare time reading science journals and studies, as well as watching National Geographic.
